Calvert Girls' Tennis began in 1965 under the leadership of Coach Elaine MacFarland. From 1965 through 1971, she produced five undefeated seasons before stepping down as head coach. Sr. John Paul took over the program for the 1972 and 1973 seasons, and was followed by Coach Mary Landon, who led the program for one season.
Thereafter, Coach Kathleen Koester led the program, and in her second season, produced the first girls' league championship (SBC). This was the year (1976) girls' tennis moved from the spring season to the fall season. Coach Koester continued through the 1978 season, and the program welcomed back Sr. John Paul for the 1979 season.
In 1980, Elaine MacFarland returned, and led the program through the 1985 season. Coach Louis Pardi took over in 1986, and led the program for five seasons. Coach Dave Kimmet ran the program from 1991 through 2009, leading the program to an undefeated season in 1997 with 14 wins.
In 2010, the program welcomed Coach Karen Kapelka-Kwiat, who led the program through the 2013 season, before stepping down. Coach Robbie Ball was head coach for the 2014 season, before resigning the position. The program is currently led by Coach Sarah Herald.
