Calvert Golf began in the spring of 1961, under the direction of Joe Kukoy, who led the program through the 1970 season. From 1971 to 1973, David Hartman coached the Senecas, before handing over the reigns to Rick Bean (1973-75), who welcomed golf as a "fall sport" during his stay. Coach Bean produced a 3rd place District finish in 1974, and 8th place District finish in 1975. The following season, the Calvert Golf team welcomed Karl "Zip" Zalar as the new head coach, by winning the SBC, Sectional, District, and State Championships. The team was led by Rick Steiner, who ended his senior season as State Medalist.
After only 1 season as head coach, Coach Zalar handed the reigns over to Paul "Clutch" Miletti, who would guide the program through the 1989 season. He made a name for himself by coaching his 1978 team to a 7th place District finish. Additionally, in 1982, he coached his team to the SBC Championship, Sectional and District titles, and a 5th place finish in the State Tournament. The 1982 team also set a new school record for most wins (24) by a team in one season. Wth the 1986 season being the first for the Calvert Senecas' golf program in the Midland Athletic League (MAL), Coach Miletti's golfers brought home the league's first title. Coach Miletti led the program for three more seasons, before handing over his duties to new head coach Rick Demith, who led the program for two seasons. Thereafter, Andy Altenburger coached the Seneca golfers from 1992 to 1994, before Troy Felter led the program for the 1995 season.
Scott Brickner became head coach beginning in 1996. Under his direction, Calvert golf consisted of three league Medalists, including Chris Hall (2001), Joel Ardner (2006), and Tony Klepper (2008). In 2009, the Senecas brought home the program's 2nd MAL title, in addition to winning the Sectional Championship as a team. After 14 seasons as head coach, Coach Brickner handed over his program to Ryan Bloomfield, who led the program for two seasons, brining home another Sectional Championship in 2011. Coach Bob Williams took over leadership of the program in 2012, and led the program through the 2015 season. Coach Greg Kohler began leading the program at the start of the 2016 season, and remains with the program.
